About the university

Dongguan University of Technology (DGUT), abbreviated as "DGUT", is a full-time general institution of higher education approved by the Ministry of Education and established by the Dongguan Municipal People's Government. Its competent authority is the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, and it operates under a management system of "co-construction by the province and city, with the city as the main body." It has been selected for the Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program, the Guangdong Provincial High-Level Polytechnic University, and the Key Discipline Construction Universities under the Guangdong Provincial High-Level University Construction Plan. The university was approved for preparation by the Guangdong Provincial People's Government in January 1990, authorized for early enrollment by the National Education Commission in July 1991, officially established in April 1992, and upgraded to a bachelor's degree-granting institution with the approval of the Ministry of Education in April 2002.
