Beijing Institute of Technology

Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) is a leading research university located in Beijing, the capital of China. It is renowned for its strength in engineering, with a comprehensive range of disciplines including science, management, humanities, law, economics, and arts.

BIT is affiliated with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and is a member of the prestigious "211 Project", "985 Project", and "World-Class Universities" (Category A). Its predecessor was the Yan'an Natural Science Academy founded in 1940, and it was renamed Beijing Institute of Technology in 1988.

BIT is particularly strong in vehicle engineering, armament science and technology, information and communication engineering, control science and engineering, and optical engineering. It hosts several national key disciplines and laboratories, such as the State Key Laboratory of Explosion Science and Technology and the Radar Research Institute.
