Northwestern Polytechnical University

Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU), located in the historic city of Xi'an, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China. It is a member of the national 'Double First-Class' initiative, 'Project 985', and 'Project 211'.

NPU is renowned for its distinctive focus on talent cultivation and scientific research in the fields of aviation, aerospace, and marine engineering (the 'Three Navigations'), earning the reputation as the 'Cradle of China's Three Navigation Talents'.

NPU's flagship programs are in aviation, aerospace, and marine engineering. Its disciplines such as Aeronautical and Astronautical Science and Technology, Materials Science and Engineering, and Computer Science rank among the top in China.

The university has world-class research capabilities in aircraft design, space propulsion, and underwater vehicles, winning numerous national science and technology awards. NPU is one of the first universities in China to implement the 'Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan' and is among the first ten to lead the National Excellent Engineer College.

NPU boasts a distinguished faculty, including members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, as well as recipients of the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund. The university comprises 22 professional schools and one Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine, offering 72 undergraduate programs, 39 first-level master's degree programs, and 30 first-level doctoral degree programs.

NPU has two campuses: Youyi Campus in downtown Xi'an, offering convenient access to city life, and Chang'an Campus at the foot of the Qinling Mountains, providing a serene environment ideal for study. Both campuses feature modern libraries, sports centers, and laboratories.
