The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen

The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen) is a full-time Sino-foreign cooperative university located in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China. Approved by the Ministry of Education, it was officially established in 2014 as a partnership between The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Shenzhen University.

CUHK-Shenzhen fully inherits the educational philosophy of its parent institution, featuring bilingual instruction in Chinese and English, a unique college system, general education, and interdisciplinary curricula. The campus covers approximately 1.3 square kilometers with modern facilities and a green environment.

CUHK-Shenzhen is renowned for its international orientation and high-quality education. Flagship programs include Finance, International Business, Data Science, and Computer Science. The Finance program was selected as a provincial first-class undergraduate program in 2019, and International Business achieved the same status in 2021.

In 2025, the university was included in the list of institutions eligible to recommend outstanding graduates for postgraduate study without entrance exams, reflecting its academic strength. The university offers a 2+2 undergraduate degree program jointly with CUHK, allowing students to access resources from both institutions.

CUHK-Shenzhen comprises 6 schools and 1 graduate school, offering 26 undergraduate programs, 22 taught postgraduate programs, and 17 research-oriented master's and doctoral programs, totaling 39 graduate programs. Instruction is delivered in English or bilingually, with a faculty predominantly holding PhDs from top overseas universities.

The curriculum integrates general education with specialized depth, and the college system provides small-group tutorials and holistic education. Research is supported by nearly 70 facilities covering robotics, biomedicine, data science, and more.

The campus spans 1.3 square kilometers in Longgang District, Shenzhen, featuring a green and scenic environment. Facilities include a modern library, laboratories, sports venues, and an arts center. Student dormitories are well-equipped with air conditioning, private bathrooms, and common areas.

Each college has its own dining hall, study rooms, and lounges, fostering a close-knit community. The campus has full Wi-Fi coverage and convenient transportation, with easy access to downtown Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
