University of Nottingham Ningbo China

The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) is located in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. Founded in 2004 as a partnership between Zhejiang Wanli University and the University of Nottingham, it is China's first Sino-foreign cooperative university with an independent campus and independent legal status.

All instruction is in English, and the curriculum is identical to that of the UK campus. Graduates receive a University of Nottingham degree. With students and staff from over 70 countries, UNNC offers a truly international atmosphere, making it an ideal place for Chinese students to experience British education and for international students to engage with Chinese culture.

UNNC's core strength lies in its authentic British education system and internationally recognized degrees. As part of the University of Nottingham's global network, its academic standards and student quality have been assessed by the UK's Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) as consistent with the home campus.

The Finance program is a national first-class undergraduate program, and nine others are provincial first-class. In the 2019 Shanghai Ranking's Best Chinese Universities, UNNC ranked 55th nationally and 2nd in Zhejiang Province.

UNNC fully adopts the University of Nottingham's syllabi, textbooks, and assessment systems. Faculty are recruited globally and from the UK campus, ensuring high teaching quality with a favorable student-to-faculty ratio.

The curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, teamwork, and independent research, with small-group seminars and project-based learning from the undergraduate level. Research is conducted through centers like the International Doctoral Innovation Centre, the Nottingham Ningbo New Materials Institute, and the Nottingham China Health Institute, focusing on advanced materials, mechatronics, and health sciences.

The campus is located in the Higher Education Park of Yinzhou District, Ningbo, with a total building area of 335,633 square meters. It features modern teaching buildings, laboratories, a library, and sports facilities built to international standards.

Student dormitories offer single and double rooms with air conditioning and private bathrooms. Multiple dining halls, cafes, convenience stores, and bank branches are available on campus. Sports facilities include football fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, an indoor swimming pool, and a gym.
