Overview
Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) is located in Chengdu, a historic and culturally rich city in Southwest China, known as the home of pandas and spicy cuisine, and a rising financial and tech hub. As a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, SWUFE is part of the 'Double First-Class' initiative, 'Project 211', and 'Project 985 Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform'.
It was among the first batch of universities in Sichuan to receive the 'Quality Certification for International Students in China'. The university traces its roots to Guanghua University, founded in Shanghai in 1925, which moved inland to Chengdu during the war and later merged with finance and economics departments from 17 institutions in the early 1950s.
