Hefei University of Technology

Hefei University of Technology (HFUT), located in Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of China. It is jointly supported by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Anhui Provincial Government.

HFUT is part of the national 'Double First-Class' initiative, a 'Project 211' key university, and a member of the '985 Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform.' The university spans four campuses (Tunxi Road, Feicui Lake, Xuancheng, etc.) covering over 4.08 million square meters, with 23 schools, more than 32,500 undergraduates, 15,000 graduate students, and 2,400 full-time faculty.

HFUT is renowned for its engineering disciplines, particularly mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, materials science, and automotive engineering. Its vehicle engineering program is among the best in China, with deep collaborations with automakers like JAC and Chery, earning it the nickname 'Cradle of China's Automotive Industry.' In the Ministry of Education's discipline evaluations, management science and engineering, and mechanical engineering were rated A-level.

The university hosts national-level research platforms such as the Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Research Institute and the Automotive Engineering Technology Research Institute, achieving breakthroughs in smart manufacturing, new energy, and AI.

HFUT boasts a distinguished faculty, including members of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and recipients of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Its undergraduate programs follow the 'Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan,' emphasizing hands-on learning—students can join labs as early as their sophomore year.

The curriculum integrates emerging fields like AI, big data, and robotics. Graduate education offers 20 first-level doctoral programs and 38 master's programs. Research is supported by key labs such as the 'Photovoltaic System Engineering Research Center' and the 'State Key Laboratory of Smart Grid and New Energy Technology,' undertaking major national projects.

HFUT's four campuses offer diverse experiences: Tunxi Road campus features historic tree-lined avenues and iconic buildings; Feicui Lake campus boasts modern facilities next to a scenic lake; Xuancheng campus blends Hui-style architecture with a cultural atmosphere.

All campuses provide high-speed Wi-Fi, smart classrooms, large sports venues, and multiple dining halls (including halal options). Student dormitories are four-person rooms with air conditioning, private bathrooms, and hot water.
