Hangzhou Dianzi University

Hangzhou Dianzi University (HDU) is located in Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province, known for its scenic beauty and thriving digital economy. HDU is a teaching and research university with prominent features in electronic information and distinct advantages in economics and management.

It is one of the first five key construction universities in Zhejiang Province and the only provincial university with national defense characteristic key specialties. Founded in 1956 as Hangzhou Aviation Industry Finance and Economics School, it was renamed Hangzhou Dianzi University in 2004.

HDU's flagship programs include Electronic Information Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, Automation, and Communication Engineering, all recognized as national characteristic specialties. The university offers doctoral degrees in Electronic Science and Technology, Control Science and Engineering, and Computer Science, and operates postdoctoral research stations.

Engineering and Computer Science rank among the top 1% globally in ESI. HDU is renowned as the 'Cradle of IT Entrepreneurs,' having produced many executives and technical leaders from companies like Alibaba and Hikvision.

HDU comprises 19 colleges and teaching units offering 47 undergraduate programs. The faculty includes over 2,700 staff, with more than 50% holding senior professional titles, including national-level talents and provincial teaching masters.

The university implements the Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan, emphasizing hands-on learning through national-level experimental teaching demonstration centers and engineering practice centers. Research is supported by key provincial and ministerial laboratories, such as the Zhejiang Provincial Key Laboratory of Embedded Systems and the Key Laboratory of Communication Network Technology Application.

The main campus of HDU is located in the Xiasha Higher Education Zone, featuring a beautiful environment with modern facilities. The campus is green and serene, with lakes, modern teaching buildings, a well-stocked library, sports venues, and student dormitories equipped with air conditioning, hot water, and private bathrooms.
