Jiangxi Normal University

Jiangxi Normal University (JXNU) is located in Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi Province. It is a provincial key normal university under the administration of the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government and co-established by the Ministry of Education.

Tracing its roots back to National Zhongzheng University founded in 1940, the university underwent several name changes and reorganizations before being officially named Jiangxi Normal University in 1983, making it the oldest institution offering undergraduate programs in Jiangxi.

Jiangxi Normal University is renowned for its strength in teacher education. It is one of the first batch of national demonstration universities for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform and a national demonstration university for teacher assessment and evaluation reform.

The university offers 15 doctoral degree programs (including 14 first-level doctoral disciplines and 1 professional doctoral program), 27 first-level master's programs, 25 professional master's programs, and 7 postdoctoral research stations.

JXNU comprises 21 professional schools, 3 industrial colleges, and 1 independent college, offering 69 undergraduate majors. The faculty is highly qualified, with 3,179 staff members including national-level talents and academic leaders.

The curriculum emphasizes the integration of theory and practice: teacher-training programs focus on teaching skills, while non-teacher programs align with industry needs. The university boasts several provincial and ministerial key laboratories, key research bases for humanities and social sciences, and postdoctoral stations, providing ample research opportunities for both graduate and undergraduate students.

Jiangxi Normal University has two campuses: Yaohu and Qingshanhu, covering a total area of over 3,500 mu (about 233 hectares) with more than 1.4 million square meters of building space. The main Yaohu campus features a beautiful lakeside environment, modern teaching buildings, a library, experimental centers, and sports facilities.

Student dormitories are equipped with air conditioning, hot water, and internet access, ensuring a comfortable living experience. The Qingshanhu campus is located in the city center, offering convenient transportation and a rich cultural atmosphere.
