Nantong University

Nantong University (NTU) is a comprehensive university located in Nantong, Jiangsu Province, on the eastern coast of China. It is jointly established by the Jiangsu Provincial Government and the Ministry of Transport, and is part of the Jiangsu High-Level University Construction Peak Plan.

NTU traces its roots back to 1912, when the private Nantong Medical School and Nantong Textile School were founded by the renowned industrialist and educator Zhang Jian. The current university was formed in 2004 through the merger of Nantong Medical College, Nantong Institute of Technology, and Nantong Teachers College.

Nantong University excels in medicine, textile engineering, and transportation engineering. Its flagship programs include clinical medicine, basic medicine, and textile science and engineering, which enjoy strong reputations both domestically and internationally.

The university offers 3 postdoctoral research stations, 7 first-level doctoral degree programs, 1 professional doctoral degree program, 25 first-level master's programs, and 30 professional master's programs, forming a complete talent cultivation system from bachelor's to doctoral levels.

Nantong University boasts a highly qualified faculty of 3,274 staff members (including Xinglin College), featuring national-level talents and industry experts. The university emphasizes both teaching and research, with key provincial and ministerial laboratories such as the Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Nerve Regeneration and the Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Textile Engineering, providing cutting-edge research platforms.

The curriculum integrates theory with practice, offering small-class teaching, bilingual courses, and international modules. NTU encourages students to participate in research projects and international exchanges. Nantong University's three campuses offer diverse environments. Seyuan Campus, the main campus, features modern teaching buildings, a library, and laboratories amidst green landscapes and lakes. Qixiu Campus is located in the city center near the Haohe Scenic Area, providing convenience and scenic beauty.

Qidong Campus, near the Yellow Sea, boasts spacious grounds and advanced facilities. Student dormitories are equipped with air conditioning, hot water, and private bathrooms. Canteens serve a variety of cuisines, including halal and international options.
