Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SDUTCM) is a high-level TCM institution co-established by the Shandong Provincial Government and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Located in Jinan, Shandong Province, the university traces its roots to the Shandong Provincial Research Class of TCM (1955) and the Shandong Provincial Advanced Study School of TCM (1956), officially founded in 1958 and renamed in 1996.

As a key university in Shandong, SDUTCM focuses on TCM education and research while actively promoting internationalization through partnerships with universities and research institutes worldwide, attracting international students from diverse backgrounds.

SDUTCM excels in TCM fields, particularly in Chinese Medicine, Chinese Materia Medica, and Acupuncture & Moxibustion. It is a nationally designated key TCM institution, offering 4 first-level doctoral programs, 9 first-level master's programs, and 3 postdoctoral research stations, forming a comprehensive TCM talent cultivation system.

As a high-level university and discipline construction unit in Shandong, the university has achieved remarkable results in TCM basic theory, clinical research, and herbal resource development, winning numerous national scientific awards.

SDUTCM comprises 22 schools and departments, offering 33 undergraduate programs across medicine, science, engineering, management, and more. The faculty includes numerous national and provincial teaching masters, doctoral supervisors, and internationally recognized TCM scholars.

The curriculum emphasizes the integration of classical TCM theory with modern medical technologies, with rich clinical teaching resources through affiliated hospitals and teaching hospitals. Research platforms include the TCM Regulatory Science Research Center, the Evidence-Based Medicine Research Center, and the Shandong TCM Culture Communication Society, undertaking many national and provincial projects.

SDUTCM has three distinctive campuses: the main Changqing campus with a beautiful environment and modern facilities; the Qianfoshan campus in downtown Jinan for convenient access; and the International Medical Center campus focused on medical research and clinical practice.

The total campus area is 2,182 mu (145.5 hectares) with 750,000 square meters of buildings, high greenery coverage, and a vibrant learning atmosphere. The library holds 1.438 million volumes and offers rich electronic resources with 24/7 study spaces.
