Henan University of Science and Technology

Henan University of Science and Technology (HAUST) is located in Luoyang, a historic city famous for peonies and its ancient capital heritage. Administered by Henan Province and co-built with the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, HAUST is a key 'Double First-Class' university in Henan and a high-level comprehensive university.

With a growing international community, the university attracts students from various countries, fostering a multicultural learning environment. Its roots trace back to the Beijing Tractor Industry School founded in 1952, which moved to Luoyang in 1956.

HAUST is widely recognized as the 'Whampoa Military Academy' of the bearing industry, with exceptional strengths in bearing and mechanical engineering. It boasts 10 ESI Global Top 1% disciplines, including Engineering, Materials Science, and Chemistry, reflecting its strong research capabilities.

As a beneficiary of the National Basic Capacity Building Project for Universities in Central and Western China, HAUST excels in flagship programs like mechanical engineering, materials science, and control engineering. It is also a National Demonstration University for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education and a National Intellectual Property Pilot University, emphasizing hands-on innovation.

HAUST comprises 6 faculties, 27 schools, and 2 colleges, offering over 90 undergraduate programs. It has 10 first-level doctoral degree authorization points, 3 professional doctoral degree points, and 7 postdoctoral research stations, providing a complete bachelor's-master's-doctoral education system.

The faculty includes 1,250 senior professionals (professors and associate professors), many of whom are national-level experts and industry leaders. The university operates 8 national-level research platforms, such as the State Key Laboratory of High-Temperature Light Alloys and Application Technology and the State Key Laboratory of Intelligent Mining Heavy Equipment, offering students cutting-edge research opportunities.

HAUST has two campuses: Kaiyuan (main) and Xiyuan, covering a total of 4,100 mu. The campuses are green and well-maintained, with modern teaching buildings, libraries, and labs.
