Guilin University of Electronic Technology (GUET) is situated in Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, a city renowned for its stunning karst landscapes and rich cultural heritage. Co-established by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, GUET is a selected institution of the National 'Basic Capacity Building Project for Universities in Central and Western China.' As the only university in Guangxi with a long-term commitment to national defense research, GUET has deep expertise in electronic information technology.

It is a member of the Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program, one of the first batch of Higher Education Institutions for Scientific and Technological Achievement Transformation and Technology Transfer, and a National Demonstration University for Deepening Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform.

GUET's core strength lies in its excellence in electronic information technology. It is one of 30 universities authorized by the General Armament Department for pre-research projects on communication equipment and one of the universities authorized by the BeiDou ICD, earning a strong reputation in defense technologies such as communications, radar, and navigation.

Flagship majors include Electronic Science and Technology, Information and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, and Mechanical Engineering, many of which are recognized as national first-class undergraduate programs.

GUET boasts a highly qualified faculty of over 3,400 staff, with more than 40% holding senior academic titles. The university's 18 schools and colleges cover engineering, science, management, humanities, law, economics, and arts.

In postgraduate education, it offers 8 doctoral degree programs, 1 professional doctoral category, 21 master's degree programs, 12 professional master's categories, and 4 postdoctoral research stations. The curriculum emphasizes the integration of theory and practice, supported by national-level experimental teaching demonstration centers and engineering practice education centers, implementing the Excellent Engineer Training Program.

GUET has four campuses: Jinjiling, Liuhe Road, Huajiang, and Beihai, covering a total area of over 4,700 mu (about 313 hectares). The main Huajiang campus is located along the Li River in Guilin, surrounded by mountains and water, earning it the reputation of a 'garden campus.' Facilities include modern libraries, laboratories, sports venues, and an innovation and entrepreneurship center.

Student dormitories are well-equipped with air conditioning, hot water, and internet access. Daily life is convenient with multiple cafeterias, supermarkets, and a medical service center. The Beihai campus, situated in the coastal city of Beihai, offers students a unique living and learning experience by the sea.
