Ningxia Medical University

Located in Yinchuan, the capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Ningxia Medical University (NMU) is a provincial key university jointly established by the Ningxia government, the Ministry of Education, and the National Health Commission.

Founded in 1958 as Ningxia Medical College and renamed in 2008, NMU is authorized to confer doctoral degrees and is a pilot university for the Excellent Doctor Education and Training Plan. The university has two campuses (Yanhu and Shuangyi) covering 1,700 mu, with about 14,000 full-time students, including 460 international students from over 30 countries, fostering a vibrant multicultural atmosphere.

NMU's flagship programs include Clinical Medicine, Pharmacy, and Medical Imaging, with 8 undergraduate majors recognized as national first-class programs. Four disciplines—Clinical Medicine, Pharmacology & Toxicology, Biology & Biochemistry, and Chemistry—rank in the ESI global top 1%, reflecting strong research capabilities.

The university offers 6 first-level doctoral programs and 17 master's programs, forming a complete training system from bachelor's to doctorate. Its directly affiliated General Hospital has been rated A+ in China's tertiary hospital performance assessment for seven consecutive years, providing rich clinical resources.

NMU comprises 18 teaching units covering Medicine, Science, Management, and Engineering. The faculty includes over 7,800 staff and medical professionals, with a high proportion of senior professors and national-level talents.

The curriculum emphasizes integration of theory and practice; for example, clinical medicine adopts an 'early clinical exposure, multiple clinical rotations' approach. Research platforms include provincial key laboratories and engineering centers, closely linked with affiliated hospitals for translational medicine.

Both Yanhu and Shuangyi campuses feature green landscapes and advanced facilities. The library offers extensive collections and electronic databases.
