Hebei Agricultural University

Hebei Agricultural University (HEBAU) is a provincial key university located in Baoding, Hebei Province, jointly established by the Hebei Provincial Government with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and the National Forestry and Grassland Administration.

Founded in 1902, it is one of the earliest institutions in China to offer higher agricultural education and the oldest university in Hebei Province. Over a century, it has evolved into a comprehensive university with agriculture as its core strength, complemented by engineering, science, economics, management, humanities, law, and arts.

HEBAU's flagship programs include agronomy, forestry, animal science, veterinary medicine, and food science. It offers 10 first-level doctoral programs, 2 professional doctoral programs, 23 first-level master's programs, and 9 postdoctoral research stations.

In the fourth round of China's discipline evaluation, its crop science, horticulture, and forestry ranked among the top nationally. As a 'Double First-Class' university in Hebei, its agricultural science and plant & animal science fields have entered the ESI global top 1%.

HEBAU comprises 31 colleges and schools offering 96 undergraduate programs. Its faculty of 2,960 includes over 50% professors and associate professors, along with national-level experts and provincial teaching masters. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning, supported by national experimental teaching demonstration centers and virtual simulation labs.

Research is conducted in more than 30 provincial and ministerial key laboratories and engineering centers, undertaking major national projects. The International College provides Chinese language preparatory courses, and degree programs at bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels, as well as short-term language and culture programs for international students.

HEBAU's main campus in Baoding's Lianchi District features a green, tree-lined environment with modern teaching buildings, libraries, labs, and sports facilities. Dormitories are equipped with air conditioning, hot water, and internet.

Multiple dining halls offer diverse cuisines, including halal options. The library holds extensive print and digital resources with 24-hour study spaces. Free Wi-Fi covers the campus. Baoding's convenient high-speed rail connects to Beijing and Shijiazhuang, facilitating travel and internships.
