Anhui University of Technology

Anhui University of Technology (AHUT) is located in Ma'anshan City, Anhui Province, at the core of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. It is a provincial key university with a focus on engineering and a coordinated development of multiple disciplines.

Founded in 1958, AHUT was formed in 2000 through the merger of the former East China Institute of Metallurgy and Anhui Commercial College. It is now jointly supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Anhui Provincial Government.

AHUT's flagship programs include Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering, which enjoy strong reputations both domestically and internationally. The university has deep collaborations with industry giants like Baowu Group, integrating research with production.

It is a 'National Defense Education Characteristic School' and hosts multiple provincial-level key laboratories in materials science and environmental engineering. Among provincial universities in Anhui, AHUT consistently ranks high, with Engineering and Materials Science entering the ESI global top 1%.

AHUT comprises 17 schools offering 60 undergraduate programs, with 5 first-level doctoral degree authorization points, 19 master's degree points, and 2 postdoctoral research stations. The faculty of 2,189 includes a high proportion of senior professors, many of whom are national talent program recipients.

The curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning, supported by national-level experimental teaching demonstration centers and virtual simulation projects. Research facilities are valued at 730 million RMB, including the Key Laboratory of Metallurgical Emission Reduction and Resource Utilization (Ministry of Education).

AHUT has two campuses, Jiashan and Xiushan, covering 2,539 mu (about 169 hectares) with 840,300 square meters of building space. The tree-lined campus is a 'National Greening Model Unit.' The library holds nearly 2 million books, with 24-hour study areas and digital resources.

Student dormitories are equipped with air conditioning, hot water, and private bathrooms. The dining halls have won national awards for quality service. Sports facilities include a standard track field, gymnasium, and swimming pool.
