Xi'an University of Posts and Telecommunications

Xi’an University of Posts and Telecommunications (XUPT) is located in the historic city of Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, with two campuses: Chang’an and Yanta, covering over 1,500 mu (about 100 hectares). Jointly established by the Shaanxi Provincial Government and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, XUPT is a member of the Shaanxi High-Level University Construction Project and the “First-Class University and First-Class Discipline” initiative.

As the only university in Northwest China dedicated to posts and telecommunications, XUPT emphasizes engineering while featuring information science and technology, offering programs in engineering, science, management, economics, humanities, law, and arts.

XUPT’s core strength lies in information science and technology. It is an implementing institution of the Ministry of Education’s “Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program” and holds 3 first-level doctoral degree authorization points and 16 first-level master’s degree authorization points.

The university is renowned for its programs in Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, and Electronic Information Engineering. Close collaboration with industry leaders like Huawei, ZTE, and China Telecom ensures high graduate employment rates, consistently among the top in Shaanxi Province.

The university comprises 14 teaching and research units offering 49 undergraduate programs across engineering, science, management, economics, humanities, law, and arts. The faculty includes numerous national and provincial teaching award winners, with over 60% holding doctoral degrees.

The curriculum emphasizes a balance of theory and practice, supported by national and provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers and key laboratories in Shaanxi Province. Research achievements are notable in mobile communications, network security, big data, and artificial intelligence, with many national-level projects underway.

The main Chang’an campus features modern teaching buildings, a library, laboratories, and sports facilities. The Yanta campus is centrally located with convenient transportation and complete amenities. Student dormitories are equipped with air conditioning, hot water, and internet access.

Cafeterias offer a variety of Chinese and Western dishes. The campus is green and pleasant, with standard track fields, basketball courts, and tennis courts. The library has extensive collections and 24/7 electronic resources.
