Xi'an Technological University

Xi'an Technological University (XATU), located in the historic city of Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, is the only public undergraduate institution in Northwest China with a focus on the ordnance industry. Co-established by the central and local governments and primarily managed by Shaanxi Province, it is supported by the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, China North Industries Group, and China South Industries Group.

As a member of the 'Seven Ordnance Universities' and a 'Domestic First-Class Discipline Construction University' in Shaanxi, XATU has been dedicated to defense technology and engineering education since its founding in 1955.

XATU's flagship programs include Optical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Ordnance Science and Technology, which are highly regarded both domestically and internationally. As a pilot university for the Ministry of Education's 'Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program,' it emphasizes practical innovation, with research achievements winning the National Science and Technology Progress Award (Second Class).

As one of the 'Seven Ordnance Universities,' it maintains deep partnerships with China North Industries Group, offering graduates excellent career prospects in defense, manufacturing, and technology. The university ranks among the top in Shaanxi's 'Domestic First-Class Discipline Construction' list, with multiple doctoral programs and postdoctoral research stations, showcasing strong research capabilities.

XATU boasts a strong faculty of over 1,300 full-time teachers, including national-level talents and industry experts. The curriculum follows the 'Excellent Engineer' model, integrating theory with practice in fields like optics, materials, mechanics, and control.

Research is supported by provincial key laboratories and engineering centers, such as the Shaanxi Key Laboratory of Optical Engineering and the Shaanxi Magnesium Matrix Composite Engineering Research Center. The university offers 5 first-level doctoral disciplines, 16 first-level master's disciplines, and 3 postdoctoral research stations, forming a complete 'bachelor-master-doctor' education system.

XATU has two campuses: Jinhua and Weiyang, with modern facilities and a pleasant environment. The main Weiyang campus features spacious teaching buildings, well-equipped laboratories, and a large library. Student dormitories are comfortable with air conditioning and internet access.

Multiple campus cafeterias offer diverse dining options. Sports facilities include a gymnasium, track field, and swimming pool. The campuses are conveniently located near Xi'an's city center and historical sites, allowing students to explore the ancient city's charm.
