Jiangxi Agricultural University

Jiangxi Agricultural University (JXAU) is located in Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi Province, China. It is a distinctive, high-level agricultural university that prioritizes agriculture and features biotechnology, with coordinated development across multiple disciplines.

JXAU is supported by the Basic Capacity Building Project for Universities in Central and Western China and is a first-class discipline construction university in Jiangxi Province. It is jointly built by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, and the Jiangxi Provincial Government.

JXAU's flagship programs include agronomy, biotechnology, animal science, and forestry, which enjoy strong reputations nationwide. The university offers 9 first-level doctoral programs, 1 professional doctoral program, 5 postdoctoral research stations, and 21 first-level master's programs, forming a comprehensive academic system.

It is among the first batch of universities selected for the National Excellent Agricultural and Forestry Talent Education and Training Plan and the National '2011 Plan'. JXAU has achieved significant research outcomes in agricultural biotechnology, crop genetics and breeding, and animal disease prevention.

JXAU comprises 17 teaching units offering 60 undergraduate programs across agriculture, science, engineering, economics, management, humanities, law, education, and arts. The faculty includes over 1,800 staff, many of whom are senior professors and recipients of national talent programs.

The curriculum emphasizes the integration of theory and practice, with a focus on applying biotechnology in modern agriculture. The university has a National College Student Cultural Quality Education Base and National College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program, encouraging students to engage in research and innovation.

JXAU's campus spans 16,000 mu (about 1,067 hectares), making it one of the largest university campuses in Jiangxi Province. The campus is known for its lush greenery, scenic lakes, and pleasant environment, often called a 'garden campus'.
