Dalian Polytechnic University

Dalian Polytechnic University (DPU) is located in the beautiful coastal city of Dalian, Northeast China. It is a full-time public university with a focus on engineering, while also offering programs in science, art, management, economics, and literature.

Designated as a key university for high-level domestic construction and a model for transformation in Liaoning Province, DPU is committed to producing talents for industrial upgrading. Founded in 1958 as Shenyang Institute of Light Industry, it moved to Dalian and was renamed Dalian Institute of Light Industry, before adopting its current name in 2007.

DPU excels in light industry technology, food science and engineering, and art design. It is a national innovation experimental zone for talent cultivation in ecological teaching systems of art design. The university is part of the Excellence Engineer Education and Training Program and the Excellence Agricultural and Forestry Talent Education and Training Program, renowned for its application-oriented education.

As a model university for transformation, DPU maintains close ties with industries, resulting in high graduate employment rates. Its design programs have significant national influence and have won international awards. DPU comprises 17 colleges and offers 43 undergraduate programs. It has 2 postdoctoral research stations, 3 first-level doctoral degree authorization points, and 14 first-level master's degree authorization points. The faculty is experienced, emphasizing the integration of theory and practice through the CDIO engineering education model.

The university hosts high-level research and practice platforms, including a provincial training base and a mass innovation space, with teaching and research equipment valued at nearly 600 million RMB. The curriculum highlights innovation and entrepreneurship education, earning DPU the title of 'National Model University for Deepening Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform' in 2018.

The campus covers 522,000 square meters, featuring a scenic environment near the sea with a pleasant climate. Modern facilities include well-equipped laboratories, a library, sports venues, and art studios. Student dormitories are comfortable with air conditioning and internet access.
