Harbin University of Science and Technology

Harbin University of Science and Technology (HUST) is located in Harbin, the ice city of Northeast China. It is the largest provincial science and engineering university in Heilongjiang Province and a national 'Double First-Class' university.

Founded under the initiative of Academician Wang Daheng, a renowned scientist and 'Two Bombs, One Satellite' hero, HUST adheres to the motto 'Unity of Knowledge and Action, Broad and Profound' and aims to cultivate outstanding engineers with a global perspective.

HUST's core strength lies in its flagship programs—electrical engineering (especially wire, cable, and electric machines), earning it the reputation as the 'Whampoa Military Academy' of China's wire and cable industry. Its electric machine program was once on par with Tsinghua University and Zhejiang University.

Three disciplines—Engineering, Materials Science, and Chemistry—rank among the global top 1% in ESI, reflecting strong research capabilities. HUST is a member of the Ministry of Education's 'Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program' and is co-built by Heilongjiang Province and the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense.

HUST comprises 15 colleges and 1 teaching department, offering 69 undergraduate programs, 8 doctoral degree authorization first-level disciplines, 23 master's degree authorization first-level disciplines, and 7 postdoctoral research stations.

The faculty includes numerous national-level talents and industry experts. The curriculum emphasizes the integration of theory and practice, implementing the 'Excellent Engineer' training model with national-level experimental teaching demonstration centers and engineering practice education centers.

HUST's main campus is located in Xiangfang District, Harbin, with tree-lined avenues and distinct seasons. It features modern teaching buildings, a library, gymnasiums, and student dormitories. The teaching infrastructure covers 935,500 square meters, with advanced laboratory equipment and a rich library collection.

Living conditions are convenient: dormitories are equipped with air conditioning, internet, and private bathrooms; canteens offer diverse Chinese and Western cuisine. The Rongcheng campus in Shandong enjoys a coastal environment with pleasant weather.
