Zunyi Medical University

Zunyi Medical University (ZMU) is located in Zunyi, Guizhou Province, and Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, China. It is co-built by the National Health Commission and the People's Government of Guizhou Province, and is a pilot university for the Excellent Doctor Education and Training Program.

Founded in 1947 as Dalian Medical College, it relocated to Zunyi in 1969 and was renamed Zunyi Medical University in 2018. The university has three campuses: Xinpu, Dalian Road, and Zhuhai, covering about 172 hectares with a building area of 940,000 square meters.

ZMU's flagship programs include Clinical Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, and Stomatology, with Clinical Medicine recognized as a first-class discipline in Guizhou Province. The university is part of the provincial first-class discipline construction project and the Basic Capacity Building Project for Universities in Central and Western China.

As a pilot for the Excellent Doctor Education and Training Program, it emphasizes practical skills and innovation. Its extensive hospital network—12 affiliated hospitals and 82 teaching hospitals—provides abundant clinical training opportunities.

ZMU comprises 28 teaching departments offering 34 undergraduate programs. It has 1 professional doctoral degree authorization point, 9 first-level master's degree authorization points, 46 second-level master's degree authorization points, and 7 professional master's degree points.

The faculty includes over 12,000 staff and medical professionals, with a high proportion of senior professors. The curriculum blends theory with practice through case-based learning and simulation training. Research is supported by multiple provincial key laboratories and research centers, and the library holds over 3.62 million volumes.

ZMU's three campuses offer diverse experiences: Xinpu is the modern main campus; Dalian Road is centrally located in Zunyi; Zhuhai sits in the Greater Bay Area with a pleasant coastal environment. The 2582-mu (172-hectare) campus features high greenery and a mix of modern and traditional architecture.

Student dormitories are well-equipped with air conditioning and private bathrooms. Facilities include libraries, gyms, and advanced labs. The Zhuhai campus benefits from its international city setting, hosting frequent cross-cultural activities.
