Overview
Located in Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU) is one of the earliest higher education institutions established in China's border ethnic areas after 1949. It is a key university of the autonomous region, supported by the National Midwestern Higher Education Revitalization Plan and the Ministry of Education's Pairing Assistance Program for Western Universities.
Founded in 1952 as Inner Mongolia Teachers College, it was renamed Inner Mongolia Normal University in 1982. Over seven decades, IMNU has evolved from a single-focus teachers college into a comprehensive university offering programs in arts, sciences, engineering, law, economics, management, and fine arts.
