Shandong Second Medical University

Shandong Second Medical University is located in Weifang City, Shandong Province, a full-time public undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education and jointly established by the Shandong Provincial Department of Education, Health Commission, and Weifang Municipal Government.

Its history traces back to the Letao Yuan Medical School in the late 19th century. After a century of development, it was renamed Shandong Second Medical University in 2023 and granted doctoral degree-awarding status in 2024.

Shandong Second Medical University's flagship programs include Clinical Medicine, Nursing, and Public Health, with Clinical Medicine recognized as a national first-class undergraduate program. As a pilot for the Excellent Doctor Education and Training Program, it enjoys a strong reputation in medical education.

In 2024, it became a doctoral degree-granting institution, with one first-level doctoral discipline (Clinical Medicine) and ten first-level master's disciplines, offering a complete bachelor's-master's-doctoral training system.

The university comprises 19 colleges offering 36 undergraduate programs across medicine, science, and management. It has over 1,500 faculty members, with more than 40% holding senior titles, including national and provincial talent program recipients.

Teaching emphasizes theory-practice integration, with multiple affiliated hospitals and clinical bases providing ample internship opportunities. Some programs offer bilingual courses and invite international scholars for guest lectures.
