Xi'an Shiyou University

Xi'an Shiyou University (XSYU) is a full-time public university located in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China's historic capital. It is jointly built by the central government and Shaanxi Province, and co-constructed with China's three major national oil companies: CNPC, Sinopec, and CNOOC.

Designated as a 'Double First-Class' cultivation university and a high-level university in Shaanxi, XSYU is authorized to grant doctoral degrees and hosts a postdoctoral research station. As a host institution for Chinese Government Scholarship international students, the university fosters a vibrant international atmosphere with over 1,000 international students from around the world.

XSYU's flagship programs include Petroleum Engineering, Oil & Gas Storage and Transportation, and Chemical Engineering and Technology, which are highly regarded in China. The university is part of the second batch of the 'Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program' by the Ministry of Education, emphasizing hands-on engineering skills.

Its close ties with the three major national oil companies give graduates excellent career prospects, with many employed by CNPC, Sinopec, CNOOC, and international energy firms. XSYU is recognized as a high-level university in Shaanxi Province, and several of its disciplines rank among the global top 1% in ESI.

The university comprises 18 schools and colleges offering 55 undergraduate programs, along with 3 first-level doctoral degree disciplines, 18 first-level master's degree disciplines, and 15 professional master's categories.

With over 2,000 faculty and staff, including more than 1,350 full-time teachers, XSYU boasts a strong academic team. The curriculum integrates theory with practice, supported by national and provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers and engineering practice education centers.

XSYU has three campuses: Yanta, Mingde, and Huyi, covering a total area of 2,078 mu (about 138 hectares) with fixed assets exceeding 3.5 billion RMB. The campuses feature modern facilities including multimedia classrooms, specialized laboratories, a well-stocked library, and sports venues.

Student dormitories are equipped with air conditioning and internet access, ensuring comfortable living. The main Huyi campus houses large experimental centers and internship bases for engineering practice. Surrounded by greenery, the campuses offer a conducive learning environment, with convenient transportation to explore Xi'an's rich cultural heritage.
