Chongqing Technology and Business University

Chongqing Technology and Business University (CTBU) is a comprehensive university located in Chongqing, a major municipality in southwest China. Co-established by the central and local governments, CTBU is part of the National 'Midwest University Basic Capacity Building Project' and is a key university in Chongqing for first-class discipline construction.

It is a member of the 'Yangtze-Volga' University Alliance and the 'Belt and Road' China-Poland University Alliance, reflecting its strong international orientation. Founded in 1952, CTBU was formed in 2002 through the merger of Yuzhou University and Chongqing Business College, and in 2024 it was officially approved as a doctoral degree-granting institution.

CTBU's traditional strengths lie in economics and management, with flagship programs in finance, accounting, business administration, and environmental engineering. Its economics program is recognized as a top-notch talent cultivation demonstration base in Chongqing.

The university hosts the Chongqing Finance College, a model of government-industry-academia collaboration for training high-quality financial professionals. The Yangtze River Upper Reaches Economic Research Center is a core think tank (AMI) and a top 100 university think tank (CTTI), influential in regional economic studies.

CTBU comprises 19 teaching colleges offering 81 undergraduate programs, 3 first-level doctoral degree authorization points, 14 first-level master's degree authorization points, and 24 professional master's degree authorization points, plus a postdoctoral research station in applied economics.

The faculty includes 1,913 full-time teachers, of whom 884 hold senior professional titles and 983 have doctoral degrees. The curriculum emphasizes the integration of theory and practice, with partnerships with enterprises and financial institutions for internships.

CTBU has three campuses: Nan'an, Lanhuahu, and Jiangbei, covering a total area of 2,896 mu (about 193 hectares). The campuses are green and well-maintained, earning the title of 'Chongqing Civilized Campus'. Facilities are modern: the comprehensive training and document information center, along with the academic lecture hall and garage, won the Luban Award (China's top construction prize).

The library is well-stocked and features the 'Fan Changjiang and Chongqing' exhibition. Student dormitories are comfortable with air conditioning and hot water. Sports facilities include a gymnasium, track field, and basketball courts.
