Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine

Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine (GXUCM) is situated in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, known as the 'Green City' for its pleasant climate and lush environment. It is jointly established by the Guangxi government and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and has been selected into national programs such as the Double Ten Thousand Plan and the Excellent Doctor (TCM) Education and Training Plan.

As a first-class discipline construction university in Guangxi, GXUCM focuses on traditional Chinese medicine while integrating medicine, science, engineering, and management. The university is a member of international alliances like the World Manipulative Medicine Alliance and the China-Russia TCM Innovation and Development Alliance, fostering a vibrant international atmosphere with students from around the world.

GXUCM is renowned for its TCM programs, with Chinese Materia Medica and Acupuncture & Tuina as flagship majors. Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy are recognized as national first-class undergraduate programs. The university excels in ethnic medicine, particularly Zhuang and Yao medicine, with dedicated colleges and research centers.

It boasts several provincial-level key laboratories, such as the Guangxi Key Laboratory of TCM Efficacy Research. In the 2023 Soft Science ranking of Chinese medical universities, GXUCM ranks among the top TCM institutions.

GXUCM has 816 full-time faculty, over 40% holding doctoral degrees, including nationally recognized TCM experts. The curriculum blends theory with practice: TCM programs adopt a dual-track model combining university education with master-apprentice training, while pharmacy programs integrate modern pharmaceutical sciences with traditional knowledge.

The university offers 28 undergraduate programs across 17 schools, one first-level doctoral program (Chinese Medicine), and six first-level master's programs. Research platforms include key laboratories of the National Administration of TCM and Guangxi, supporting projects on TCM for major diseases and ethnic medicine development.

The main Xianhu campus is located in Qingxiu District, featuring modern teaching buildings, a library, labs, and sports facilities amidst lush greenery. The Mingxiu campus in the city center offers convenient access to urban amenities.

Dormitories are equipped with air conditioning, hot water, and private bathrooms. Dining halls provide diverse options, including TCM diet therapy dishes. The campus houses a TCM culture museum and a medicinal plant garden.
