Xi'an Polytechnic University

Xi'an Polytechnic University (XPU) is located in the historic city of Xi'an, nestled by Xingqing Lake and at the foot of Lishan Mountain. It has two campuses, Jinhua and Lintong, covering approximately 820,000 square meters.

The university traces its roots to the Weaving Department of Beijing Industrial College founded in 1912. It became an independent institution as the Northwest Institute of Textile Engineering in 1978, was renamed Xi'an Polytechnic University in 2006, and was approved as a doctoral degree-granting institution in 2021.

XPU's flagship programs include Textile Engineering, Fashion Design and Engineering, and Light Chemical Engineering, with Textile Engineering recognized as a national characteristic specialty. The university enjoys a strong reputation in the textile and apparel industry, often called the "cradle of textile engineers in western China." It is among the first batch of bachelor's degree-granting units approved by the State Council Academic Degrees Committee and the second batch of master's degree-granting units.

XPU has one postdoctoral research station, one first-level doctoral degree authorization point, and 16 first-level master's degree authorization points. It excels in disciplines such as Textile Science and Engineering and Design, winning multiple national teaching achievement awards.

XPU boasts a highly qualified faculty of over 1,800, including national-level experts and industry leaders. The university implements the "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program," emphasizing the integration of theory and practice with a curriculum aligned with industry trends.

It hosts the Shaanxi Provincial University Science Park, providing innovation and entrepreneurship platforms for students. Research breakthroughs have been made in areas such as new textile materials, functional apparel, and intelligent textile equipment, with hundreds of national and provincial research projects.

The Jinhua campus is located in central Xi'an near Xingqing Lake, offering a scenic environment, while the Lintong campus sits at the foot of Lishan Mountain with fresh air and beautiful views. Both campuses feature modern teaching buildings, libraries, laboratories, and sports facilities.

Student dormitories are well-equipped with air conditioning and internet access. Multiple dining halls provide diverse cuisine options. The library holds extensive collections and convenient electronic resources. International student apartments are available for comfortable living.
