Guilin University of Technology

Guilin University of Technology (GUT) is located in Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, a city renowned for its karst landscapes and world heritage status. It is a co-funded university by the central and local governments, primarily managed by Guangxi.

GUT has been selected for national programs such as the Midwest University Basic Capacity Building Project, the Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program, and the National Demonstration University for Deepening Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform.

GUT's flagship programs include Geological Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Environmental Science and Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering. Its geology-related disciplines are nationally renowned, and it is the sole institution in China conducting Antarctic meteorite classification research.

The university is part of the Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program, emphasizing practical skills and innovation. GUT enjoys strong industry ties with major corporations like Aluminum Corporation of China and China Nonferrous Metals, supporting applied research and internships.

The university provides 69 undergraduate majors across eight disciplines. GUT's four campuses are set in picturesque locations. The main campuses in Guilin's Yanshan and Pingfeng areas are surrounded by karst hills and rivers, earning the nickname 'university in the landscape.'
