Liaoning Petrochemical University

Liaoning Petrochemical University (LNPU) is located in Fushun, Liaoning Province. It is a multi-disciplinary provincial key university with a strong focus on petrochemicals, jointly established by Liaoning Province and China's three major oil companies: CNPC, Sinopec, and CNOOC.

The university is part of the Ministry of Education's Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program, one of the first pilot schools for emergency management colleges, a host institution for Chinese Government Scholarship international students, and a Liaoning Province first-class discipline (Category A) construction university.

LNPU's core strength lies in its deep heritage and industry influence in petrochemicals. As China's first petroleum industry school, it enjoys a strong reputation in majors such as Chemical Engineering and Technology, Oil & Gas Storage and Transportation Engineering, and Petroleum Engineering, all of which are national or provincial first-class programs.

LNPU comprises 18 colleges offering 52 undergraduate programs, 2 joint doctoral programs, 14 first-level master's degree programs, and 9 professional master's degree categories. The faculty includes over 1,500 staff, with a high proportion of senior professors and many recognized at national and provincial levels.

The curriculum emphasizes industry collaboration through the Excellent Engineer program, with national and provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers and engineering practice centers. Research is supported by provincial key laboratories and engineering technology research centers, focusing on petrochemicals, new energy, new materials, and emergency management.
