North China University of Science and Technology

North China University of Science and Technology (NCUST) is located in Caofeidian New City, Tangshan, Hebei Province, near the Bohai Sea. As a full-time public university sponsored by the Hebei Provincial Government, it focuses on engineering and medicine while coordinating development in arts and sciences.

It is a provincial key backbone university and a member of Hebei's 'Double First-Class' initiative. Its history traces back to the Mining Department of Tianjin Beiyang Western Academy founded in 1895, evolving through mergers and renaming to become NCUST in 2015.

NCUST's flagship programs are in engineering and medicine, particularly mining engineering, metallurgical engineering, and clinical medicine, which enjoy strong reputations. It is selected for the Ministry of Education's Excellent Engineer and Excellent Doctor Education and Training Programs, and is a national comprehensive reform pilot for majors.

NCUST has 30 teaching units, 102 undergraduate programs, 3 first-level doctoral degree authorization points, 28 first-level master's degree authorization points, and 21 professional master's degree categories. The faculty includes over 3,260 staff, many of whom are national-level experts.

The curriculum emphasizes theory-practice integration, with national innovation and entrepreneurship training programs for students. Research platforms include a provincial-ministerial co-innovation center and Ministry of Education's new engineering projects, providing advanced labs and resources.

The 4,500-mu campus features modern facilities including a library, labs, and sports venues. Student dormitories are equipped with air conditioning and internet, and canteens offer diverse cuisines. On-campus amenities include a medical center, bank, and supermarket.

Located in Caofeidian New City, the campus has convenient transport links to Tangshan city center and major cities like Beijing and Tianjin.
