Nanjing Institute of Technology

Nanjing Institute of Technology (NJIT) is a public undergraduate university located in the historic city of Nanjing, eastern China. It is a multi-disciplinary institution with engineering as its core, complemented by economics, management, literature, science, and law.

Administered by Jiangsu Province, NJIT is among the first batch of pilot universities for the Ministry of Education's 'Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program' and the CDIO engineering education reform. It also serves as a national innovation experimental zone for mechatronics control talent cultivation.

NJIT's flagship programs are in mechanical and electrical engineering, electric power, and automation, with 11 national-level first-class undergraduate programs and 14 provincial-level ones. The university is recognized as a national model for industry-academia-research cooperation and graduate employment, with consistently high employment rates and strong industry recognition.

It excels in mechatronics control, power systems, and intelligent manufacturing, hosting several provincial and ministerial key laboratories and engineering centers. NJIT was selected as a pilot unit for the 'Service National Special Needs Talent Training Project' for professional master's degrees and was approved as a master's degree-granting institution in 2021, enhancing its educational level.

NJIT comprises 21 academic units offering 62 undergraduate programs, 2 first-level master's degree disciplines, and 15 professional master's degree programs. The faculty of over 2,100 includes a high proportion of senior professors, many with overseas study or research experience.

The curriculum emphasizes the integration of theory and practice, adopting the CDIO engineering education model with project-based learning and teamwork. The university has multiple national and provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, virtual simulation centers, and joint laboratories with enterprises.

NJIT's campus covers nearly 3,000 mu with modern teaching buildings, libraries, laboratories, and sports facilities. Student dormitories are well-equipped with air conditioning, hot water, and internet access, ensuring comfortable living.
