Fujian University of Technology (FJUT) is a provincial key university located in Fuzhou, a coastal city in southeast China. Founded in 1896 as 'Cangxia Jingshe', it has over 120 years of history and was officially renamed Fujian University of Technology in 2023.

As one of the first pilot universities under the Ministry of Education's 'Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program' and a Class A first-class applied university in Fujian, FJUT focuses on producing high-quality applied talents with international perspectives.

Features & strengths

FJUT's flagship programs are in engineering fields such as mechanical, electrical, civil, architectural, and information technology, which enjoy strong reputations in Fujian and nationwide. It is one of 100 universities selected for the national '13th Five-Year' applied undergraduate industry-education integration project and a member of the New Engineering Research and Practice Program, emphasizing hands-on learning.

As a model applied public undergraduate institution in Fujian, it partners with leading companies to build internship bases and industry colleges, resulting in consistently high graduate employment rates. In 2024, it gained approval as a doctoral degree-granting institution, marking a major milestone.

FJUT boasts a faculty of 1,345 full-time teachers, many with overseas study or industry experience. Teaching emphasizes small classes and project-based learning, with curricula updated to reflect industry trends and real-world cases.

Research is supported by several provincial key laboratories and engineering centers, with teaching and research equipment valued at over 560 million RMB. The university offers one first-level doctoral program, seven first-level master's programs, and 15 professional master's programs, providing a complete education pathway from bachelor's to doctorate.
