Located in Shanghai's Pudong New Area, adjacent to the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Shanghai Customs University enjoys a prime position in one of the world's most dynamic global trade hubs. Directly administered by the General Administration of Customs of China and co-built with the Shanghai Municipal Government, the university is a full-time higher education institution with a sharp focus on customs, taxation, and international trade.
Its roots trace back to the Shanghai Customs School founded in 1953, and it was upgraded to a bachelor's degree-granting university in 2007, later authorized to offer master's degrees in 2018. The university maintains strong partnerships with customs administrations worldwide, hosting international seminars and student exchange programs that foster a vibrant multicultural atmosphere.
