Wuhan Sports University (WSU) is located in Wuhan, Hubei Province, the heart of central China. It is a key sports institution jointly established by the General Administration of Sport of China and the Hubei Provincial Government, and is among the first batch of Double First-Class universities in Hubei.

Founded in 1953 as one of China's earliest independent sports colleges, WSU now operates four campuses: Donghu, Canglong Island, Donghu High-tech Zone, and Wudang Mountain, covering about 121 hectares. The university is committed to nurturing globally competitive sports professionals, with partnerships including South Korea's Shinhan University and a growing international student community.

Features & strengths

WSU's core strength lies in sports science, offering a first-level doctoral degree in sports and a postdoctoral research station. It is the only Double First-Class sports university in Hubei. Flagship programs include sports training, physical education, and sports human science, recognized nationally and internationally.

The university operates Hubei's first high-altitude sports training base in Wufeng and co-founded the China Triathlon College with the Chinese Triathlon Association, showcasing leadership in niche sports. With two Grade III Level A affiliated hospitals, WSU excels in sports medicine.

The curriculum integrates sports, technology, and humanities, emphasizing hands-on learning. Research platforms include the China Triathlon College and Sanhe International Tennis Academy. International collaborations, such as with Shinhan University, enhance academic exchange.
