Anhui Jianzhu University

Anhui Jianzhu University (AJU), located at No. 292 Ziyun Road, Hefei Economic and Technological Development Zone, is the only multi-disciplinary university in Anhui Province with a focus on civil engineering and architecture.

It is jointly built by the Anhui Provincial Government and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. Founded in 1958, the university has evolved through several stages, including Anhui Construction Engineering School and Anhui Institute of Architecture and Industry, before being renamed Anhui Jianzhu University in 2013.

AJU's flagship programs include Civil Engineering, Architecture, Urban and Rural Planning, and Water Supply and Drainage Engineering. Civil Engineering is a first-level doctoral degree program with a postdoctoral research station.

As the cradle of construction talent in Anhui, its graduates are highly regarded in the Yangtze River Delta region for architecture, design, and project management. The university collaborates with Tongji University to enhance discipline development, and in 2025 it was designated as a key supported institution in Anhui's discipline construction plan.

AJU comprises 13 schools and colleges offering 60 undergraduate majors in fields such as Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Environmental Engineering, and Computer Science. The faculty includes over 1,200 full-time teachers, with more than 40% holding senior academic titles, many of whom are recognized in national and provincial talent programs.

The university emphasizes practical teaching and research innovation, hosting several provincial-level key laboratories and engineering research centers, such as the Anhui Key Laboratory of Building Structure and Underground Engineering and the Anhui Key Laboratory of Green Building and Prefabricated Construction.

AJU's two campuses, Ziyun Road and Jinzhai Road, feature a green and pleasant environment. The main Ziyun Road campus boasts modern teaching buildings, labs, a library, and sports facilities. The library offers extensive collections and digital resources.

Student dormitories are equipped with air conditioning, hot water, and internet access. Multiple campus canteens provide diverse dining options. Sports facilities include a track field, basketball courts, and tennis courts.
