North Sichuan Medical College

North Sichuan Medical College, located in Nanchong City, Sichuan Province, is a provincial public medical university under the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education. It focuses on medicine while coordinating the development of multiple disciplines including medicine, science, arts, management, and engineering.

The college originated from the Southwest Sichuan North Medical School founded in 1951, upgraded to an undergraduate institution in 1985, and was authorized to confer master's degrees in 2006. It has two campuses, Shunqing and Gaoping, covering an area of over 1,800 mu.

North Sichuan Medical College boasts distinctive strengths. Medical Imaging and Clinical Medicine are provincial-level undergraduate talent training bases and flagship programs with national recognition. The college is selected as a Sichuan 'Double First-Class' discipline construction university and one of the first batch of national 'Excellent Doctor Education Training Plan' pilot universities, emphasizing clinical practice and innovation.

It offers 17 first-level master's degree authorization points and 6 professional master's degree categories covering medicine, science, management, and more. The college has achieved notable research results in esophageal cancer, traditional Chinese medicine, and cataract treatment, winning multiple provincial-level awards.

Academically, North Sichuan Medical College has a highly qualified faculty of over 1,400, with a high proportion of senior professors and experts receiving special allowances from the State Council. The curriculum emphasizes reform and practical training through the Excellent Doctor Education Training Plan, supported by national and provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers.

The college is a postdoctoral innovation practice base in Sichuan Province and was approved as a project construction unit for new doctoral degree-granting institutions in 2016, upgraded to 'priority cultivation' status in 2023.

The college's two campuses offer beautiful environments and modern facilities. Shunqing Campus is located in downtown Nanchong with convenient transportation, while Gaoping Campus is nestled in a scenic area with a tranquil atmosphere.
