Beihua University

Beihua University is located in Jilin City, Jilin Province, and is a key comprehensive university co-established by the Jilin Provincial Government and the National Forestry and Grassland Administration. Founded in 1999 through the merger of Jilin Normal College, Jilin Medical College, Jilin Forestry College, and Jilin Electrification College, its roots trace back to 1906 with the establishment of Jilin Junior Normal School.

As a Ministry of Education demonstration base for studying in China and a host institution for Chinese government scholarship international students, Beihua actively promotes international education. It is a member of the Sino-Russian Medical University Alliance and has partnerships with universities worldwide.

Beihua University's flagship programs include forestry, medicine, teacher education, and electrical engineering. It has one key discipline at the national level (forestry), 11 provincial-level high-standard disciplines, 11 national first-class undergraduate programs, and 6 national characteristic specialties.

The forestry program benefits from the university's role as chair of the Forest Health Branch of Jilin Forestry Society, gaining recognition in forestry science and management. The medical program, originating from a midwifery school founded in 1928, is among the first batch of universities in the Excellent Doctor Education and Training Plan.

Beihua University comprises 26 colleges, 83 undergraduate programs, 18 first-level master's degree authorization points, and 23 professional master's degree categories. It is a provincial doctoral degree-granting project construction unit.

The faculty includes 2,183 members, with a high proportion of senior professors. The total value of teaching and research equipment reaches 678 million RMB. The curriculum emphasizes practice and innovation, supported by 37 national and provincial teaching platforms, including a national university practice education innovation and entrepreneurship base.

Beihua University has three campuses (East, South, North) with beautiful green spaces and extensive teaching and experimental bases. The affiliated hospital provides clinical practice for medical students. Campus facilities include modern libraries, laboratories, sports venues, and well-equipped dormitories.

The East campus focuses on medicine and life sciences, the South on forestry and environmental science, and the North on engineering and technology. Student life is vibrant with clubs, international cultural festivals, and cross-cultural activities.
