Hubei Normal University

Hubei Normal University, located in Huangshi City, Hubei Province, is a provincial comprehensive key normal university emphasizing humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and engineering, with teacher education as its distinctive feature.

Administered by the Hubei Provincial Government, the university has the authority to confer master's degrees and is listed among Hubei's 'Double First-Class' construction universities. Founded in 1973 as the Huangshi Branch of Central China Normal University, it was renamed Hubei Normal University in 2016.

Hubei Normal University is renowned for its teacher education programs and serves as a key base for training basic education teachers in Hubei Province. The university offers 13 first-level master's degree programs and 12 professional master's degree programs, covering education, literature, science, engineering, and more.

Flagship programs such as Education, Chemistry, and Mathematics and Applied Mathematics are recognized as national first-class undergraduate programs. The university is a pilot institution for the national industry-education integration development project, collaborating closely with local schools and enterprises to provide students with hands-on experience.

The university comprises 17 teaching and research units and offers 69 undergraduate programs across disciplines including arts, sciences, engineering, education, economics, management, and law. The faculty includes experts who receive special allowances from the State Council and provincial teaching masters.

The curriculum emphasizes the integration of theory and practice, featuring small-class teaching and a mentorship system that encourages student participation in research. The university operates several provincial-level research platforms, such as the Hubei Collaborative Innovation Center for Rare Metal Chemistry, along with multiple experimental teaching demonstration centers.

The campus covers 2,002 mu (approx. 133.5 hectares) with over 600,000 square meters of building space, featuring high greenery coverage and a pleasant environment. Key facilities include modern teaching buildings, laboratories, a library, a gymnasium, and student dormitories.

Dormitories are equipped with air conditioning, hot water, and private bathrooms for convenience. Multiple dining halls offer a variety of cuisines to suit different tastes. Sports facilities include a standard track field, basketball courts, tennis courts, and a swimming pool.
