Hefei University

Located in Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province, Hefei University is a provincial public institution focused on applied talent cultivation. It is jointly established by the Anhui Provincial Government and co-built by Anhui Province and Hefei City, and is one of the first batch of universities under the Ministry of Education's 'Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program.' Its predecessor, Hefei United University, was founded in 1980 by seven universities in Hefei including USTC, HFUT, and AHU, pioneering a multi-university collaboration model.

In 2002, it merged with Hefei Education College and Hefei Normal School to form Hefei University, and was renamed Hefei University in 2023. Since 1985, the university has engaged in deep cooperation with Lower Saxony, Germany, becoming a model of Sino-German educational partnership.

Hefei University's core strengths lie in its distinctive applied orientation and deep-rooted Sino-German cooperation. As Vice-Chairman of the National Application-Oriented Undergraduate Universities Committee and Chairman of the Yangtze River Delta Application-Oriented Undergraduate Universities Alliance, it leads in applied higher education.

Flagship programs include Mechanical Design & Automation, Electronic Information Engineering, Computer Science, and Chemical Engineering, all aligned with German universities of applied sciences, emphasizing practice and innovation.

Academics at Hefei University are tightly integrated with applied talent development. The faculty includes professors from top Chinese universities and those with German study or work experience. Long-term partnerships with multiple universities of applied sciences in Lower Saxony, Germany, enable joint curriculum development and a 'dual system' teaching model, offering students opportunities for exchange in Germany or dual degrees.

Research platforms include provincial key labs and engineering centers, such as the 'Sino-German Intelligent Transportation Systems Research Center,' focusing on smart manufacturing, new energy, and new materials. Master's programs cover engineering, science, management, and humanities.

Hefei University's campus is located in the Hefei Economic and Technological Development Zone, with convenient transportation and surrounding amenities. Covering 1.057 million square meters with 690,900 square meters of buildings, it features modern teaching buildings, a library, gymnasium, student dormitories, and canteens.

The library offers rich collections and digital resources. Sports facilities include a standard track field, basketball courts, tennis courts, and gateball courts. Student apartments are equipped with air conditioning, hot water, and internet.
