Tianjin University of Sport

Tianjin University of Sport (TUS) is a full-time public university located in Tianjin, a major port city in northern China. Founded in 1958, TUS has developed into a multidisciplinary institution with sports science as its core, integrating education, management, literature, arts, science, and medicine.

The university operates two campuses—Hexi and Tuanbo—covering 74.4 hectares with 388,600 square meters of buildings. It has 600 faculty members and over 7,400 students, including international students. TUS actively promotes internationalization through student exchanges and collaborations with overseas universities.

TUS's greatest strength lies in its outstanding sports science program, which earned an A- rating in the 2017 national discipline evaluation, ranking among the top in China. The university holds a first-level doctoral degree authorization in sports science, one of the first batch of professional doctoral programs in sports, and a postdoctoral research station, offering a complete training system from bachelor's to postdoctoral levels.

Flagship majors include Physical Education, Sports Training, and Social Sports Guidance, with 11 national-level first-class undergraduate programs and 5 municipal featured programs. TUS has undertaken major national research projects, winning a National Science and Technology Progress Award.

Academically, TUS boasts a highly qualified faculty: over 50% hold senior titles and over 40% have doctoral degrees, including national teaching masters, Olympic champions, and world champions. The university has 13 teaching units offering 22 undergraduate programs across six disciplines.

It features 47 national and municipal first-class courses and 3 national精品资源共享 courses. Research is supported by 35 provincial-level platforms, including key laboratories for sports psychology and physiology, and sports medicine.

TUS has two campuses: Hexi in the city center and Tuanbo with modern sports facilities including gymnasiums, swimming pools, track fields, football pitches, baseball fields, and climbing walls. The library is well-stocked, and dormitories are comfortable with air conditioning and internet.

The campus is green and convenient, with canteens, supermarkets, and clinics. The China Women's Volleyball Spirit Science Popularization Base adds a unique cultural touch, fostering a vibrant sports atmosphere.
