Shanghai Polytechnic University

Shanghai Polytechnic University (SSPU), located in Shanghai, China, has its main campus on Jinhai Road in Pudong New Area. It is a full-time public university under the Shanghai Municipal Government. Founded in 1960 as Shanghai Spare-Time Industrial University, it was renamed Shanghai Polytechnic University in 1984 and became a full-time undergraduate institution in 2003.

As a member of the Alliance of Applied Technology Universities and the CDIO Engineering Education Alliance, SSPU focuses on cultivating high-quality applied talents to meet the industrial demands of Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta.

SSPU's core strengths lie in its deep expertise in applied technology and strong industry partnerships. Engineering and Chemistry have entered the ESI global top 1%, showcasing research excellence. The university boasts 3 national characteristic specialties and 3 national first-class undergraduate program construction sites, covering popular fields like mechanical engineering, computer science, and materials science.

SSPU has a highly qualified faculty of 888 full-time teachers, including 80 with senior professional titles and 276 with associate senior titles, many with overseas experience. The curriculum emphasizes the integration of theory and practice, adopting the CDIO engineering education model to foster project-based learning and innovation.

The university offers 13 master's degree programs across engineering, management, and arts.
