Huaibei Normal University

Huaibei Normal University (HBNU) is a provincial key institution of higher education located in Huaibei City, Anhui Province, established by the Anhui Provincial People's Government and approved by the Ministry of Education.

Founded in 1974 as the Huaibei Branch of Anhui Normal University, it was renamed Huaibei Normal University in 2010. Over nearly five decades, it has evolved into a comprehensive normal university with strengths in teacher education and a wide range of disciplines including arts, sciences, engineering, management, law, economics, and fine arts.

HBNU's teacher education programs are its traditional strengths, with majors in Chinese, mathematics, physics, and chemistry enjoying high reputations in Anhui Province. The university has been recognized as a model unit of civilization for multiple sessions, the first batch of civilized units in the education system of Anhui, and a national advanced unit for college student social practice.

It has been selected into the Basic Capacity Building Project for Universities in Central and Western China (Phase II) and the Anhui Province Peak Discipline Construction Plan, playing a key role in training basic education teachers and regional development.

HBNU comprises 15 colleges offering 70 undergraduate programs, 60 of which recruit students nationwide. The faculty includes over 1,460 full-time teachers, with a high proportion holding senior titles and an increasing number with doctoral degrees.

The university emphasizes both teaching and research, boasting several provincial key disciplines and research platforms such as peak disciplines and key laboratories. Teaching and research equipment valued at over 374 million RMB supports experimental teaching and scientific research.

HBNU has two campuses, Xiangshan and Binhu, featuring beautiful green environments and a strong academic atmosphere. The library holds a collection of over 6.6 million volumes of Chinese and foreign language printed books and electronic resources, providing ample learning materials.

Modern teaching facilities include multimedia classrooms, laboratories, and sports venues. Living conditions are convenient, with dormitories equipped with air conditioning and internet, and canteens offering diverse dining options.
