Yancheng Institute of Technology

Located in Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province, on the northern wing of the Yangtze River Delta, Yancheng Institute of Technology (YCIT) is a full-time public undergraduate university jointly built by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and Yancheng Municipal Government.

Founded in 1958, it underwent several mergers and upgrades, and in 2018 was approved as a master's degree granting institution, becoming the first undergraduate university in Yancheng. YCIT focuses on engineering and is a pilot university for the Ministry of Education's Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program, a selected university for the National New Engineering Research and Practice Project, and a member of the CDIO Engineering Education Alliance.

YCIT excels in engineering, with flagship majors such as Mechanical Design and Automation, Chemical Engineering and Technology, and Pharmaceutical Engineering, which are highly regarded in Jiangsu Province. Graduates enjoy a employment rate consistently above 95%.

As a pilot for the Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program, YCIT emphasizes hands-on engineering skills and close ties with local industries, particularly in machinery, chemical engineering, and intelligent manufacturing.

YCIT boasts a highly qualified faculty, with over 50% of full-time teachers holding senior titles and many having overseas study or research experience. The university offers 20 master's degree authorization points across 5 first-level disciplines and 15 professional degree fields, providing a complete education system from bachelor's to master's.

The curriculum features the Excellent Engineer Program and New Engineering projects, blending theory with practice through extensive labs, training, and project-based courses. Research platforms include provincial key laboratories and engineering research centers, achieving notable results in chemical engineering, machinery, and environmental protection.

YCIT has two campuses: Jianjun East Road and Xiwang Avenue, both featuring modern architecture and lush greenery. The Xiwang Avenue campus, opened in 2007, is equipped with smart classrooms, a state-of-the-art library, a large gymnasium, and standard sports fields.

Laboratories are well-equipped for teaching and research. Student dormitories offer air conditioning, hot water, and private bathrooms; canteens serve diverse cuisines; and on-campus amenities include supermarkets, banks, and a clinic.
