Xinjiang University of Finance & Economics

Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics (XUFE) is located in Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Founded by the regional government, it is a key university authorized to confer doctoral degrees.

XUFE is a member of the Silk Road University Alliance, the First-class Finance and Economics Discipline Construction Alliance, and the Xinjiang New Liberal Arts Education Alliance. It has been selected as one of the first national demonstration universities for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform.

XUFE’s flagship programs are in economics and management, with 4 national characteristic specialties (e.g., finance, accounting) and 16 national first-class undergraduate programs, making it a top finance and economics university in Northwest China.

As a member of the First-class Finance and Economics Discipline Construction Alliance, it excels in applied economics and business administration, and hosts a postdoctoral research station in applied economics. The university is a national model for innovation and entrepreneurship education, with students frequently winning awards in national competitions.

XUFE employs 926 full-time faculty members, many of whom are senior professors and recipients of State Council special allowances. The university offers 2 first-level doctoral programs, 9 first-level master’s programs, and 15 professional master’s programs, along with 43 undergraduate majors.

It boasts 20 national first-class courses and 14 autonomous region-level first-class courses. Research platforms include 4 autonomous region experimental teaching demonstration centers, and the newly established Digital Intelligence Supply Chain Industry College (2025) promotes industry-academia integration.

XUFE has three campuses, with the main one located in central Urumqi, offering convenient transportation and a green environment. Modern buildings house classrooms, libraries, and labs. Student dormitories are equipped with air conditioning and private bathrooms, and canteens provide diverse meals catering to different ethnic and international tastes.
