Yulin University

Yulin University (formerly Yulin College) is located in Yulin City, Shaanxi Province, a major energy hub in northwest China. It is jointly established by the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education and Yulin Municipal Government, designated as a first-class application-oriented undergraduate institution in Shaanxi and included in the Excellent Agricultural and Forestry Talent Education and Training Program.

Its history dates back to the Fourth Normal School of Shaanxi founded in 1923. After several mergers and upgrades, it became a four-year undergraduate institution in 2003, gained master's degree granting status in 2018, and was officially renamed Yulin University in March 2026.

Yulin University's flagship programs are in energy chemical engineering, agricultural sciences, and teacher education, closely aligned with regional industries. As a top application-oriented university in Shaanxi, it emphasizes practical skills and innovation.

Its energy programs leverage Yulin's rich coal and oil resources through deep collaboration with local enterprises, ensuring high graduate employment. The agriculture programs, part of the national Excellent Agricultural and Forestry Talent Plan, specialize in dryland farming and ecological restoration.

Academically, Yulin University comprises 16 schools offering 54 undergraduate majors across engineering, science, humanities, management, education, and agriculture. The faculty includes a high proportion of senior professors, many with overseas study or research experience.

The curriculum emphasizes industry-education integration, with internship bases at companies like Yulin Energy Group and Shaanxi Coal Group, allowing students to work on real projects. Research platforms include several provincial key laboratories and engineering centers focusing on energy chemicals, dryland agriculture, and northern Shaanxi culture.

Yulin University's three campuses offer distinct experiences. The main Yuyang campus features modern teaching buildings, a library, and labs. The Suide Normal campus retains historic architecture in a quiet setting, ideal for education majors.

The Science and Innovation New City campus, near the high-tech zone, boasts state-of-the-art facilities. Dormitories are equipped with air conditioning and internet, and canteens serve diverse meals including halal options.
