Yangtze Normal University

Founded in 1931, Yangtze Normal University is located in Fuling District, Chongqing, at the confluence of the Yangtze and Wu Rivers. It is a full-time undergraduate institution with a strong tradition in teacher education and a distinctive application-oriented focus.

The university is a member of the CDIO Engineering Education Alliance and a key support institution under the Ministry of Education's Collaborative Quality Improvement Plan for Teacher Education. Covering over 1,700 mu, the campus is recognized as a Garden-style Unit in Chongqing.

Yangtze Normal University's core strengths lie in its deep-rooted teacher education heritage and distinctive application-oriented transformation. It boasts 4 national first-class undergraduate programs and 16 provincial first-class programs, with 12 programs passing the second-level teacher education certification by the Ministry of Education.

As a member of the CDIO Engineering Education Alliance, the university emphasizes industry-education integration, operating 3 modern industry colleges and 1 innovation and entrepreneurship college. Its academic strength is reflected in 7 key disciplines under Chongqing's 14th Five-Year Plan and 3 disciplines in the top 1% of ESI globally, including Chemistry and Materials Science.

Academically, Yangtze Normal University comprises 18 secondary colleges offering 55 full-time undergraduate programs across arts, sciences, engineering, education, economics, management, and law. The faculty includes nearly 1,300 full-time teachers, many with overseas experience.

The university has developed 4 national first-class courses and 110 Chongqing municipal first-class courses, along with 32 model courses for ideological and political education. Research platforms include several provincial-level key laboratories and engineering centers, with dozens of national-level research projects undertaken in recent years.
