Beijing Police College is located in Nankou Town, Changping District, Beijing. It is a full-time undergraduate public security institution sponsored by the Beijing Municipal Government and administered by the Beijing Public Security Bureau.
Its predecessor dates back to the Public Security School of the People's Government of Beiping City, established in 1949, and it was upgraded to a bachelor's degree-granting college in 2006 with approval from the Ministry of Education.
Beijing Police College's core strength lies in its status as the authoritative institution for police talent cultivation in the capital, with distinct industry characteristics and a strong practical focus. It is the only undergraduate college directly under the Beijing Public Security Bureau, often regarded as the 'Whampoa Military Academy' for the capital's public security system.
