Yancheng Teachers University

Yancheng Teachers University is located in Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province, in the Yangtze River Delta economic zone. It is a full-time undergraduate university with a traditional strength in teacher education and coordinated development across multiple disciplines.

The university traces its roots to Yancheng Teachers College and Yancheng Education College, both founded in 1958, which merged in 1999 to form the current institution. In 2024, it was approved as a master's degree-granting unit.

Yancheng Teachers University is renowned for its teacher education programs, with three national characteristic specialties (e.g., Chinese Language and Literature, Mathematics and Applied Mathematics), ten national first-class undergraduate program construction sites, and two national comprehensive reform pilot programs.

It is a Jiangsu Province talent cultivation model innovation experimental base, and its normal programs are highly recognized within the province. The university also excels in fields such as chemistry and materials science, with one discipline ranked in the top 1% of ESI globally.

The university has a strong faculty of over 1,600 staff, including many senior professors and provincial teaching masters. It offers 60 undergraduate programs across literature, science, engineering, education, economics, management, and more.

With three professional master's degree authorization categories and the recent approval as a master's degree-granting unit in 2024, the university has elevated its academic level.
