Henan Institute of Science and Technology

Henan Institute of Science and Technology (HIST), located in Xinxiang City, Henan Province, is a provincial public university with a focus on agriculture and engineering, offering a wide range of disciplines. It is under the administration of the Henan Provincial Department of Education and has been selected for national programs such as the National 2011 Plan Collaborative Innovation Unit, the Basic Capacity Building Project for Universities in Central and Western China (Phase II), the Excellent Teacher Training Program, and the Excellent Agricultural and Forestry Talent Education and Training Program.

HIST traces its origins to the Department of Biology of the Yan'an Academy of Natural Sciences founded in 1939, and after several mergers and name changes, it was officially renamed Henan Institute of Science and Technology in 2004.

HIST excels in agriculture and engineering, with national-level characteristic programs in Agronomy, Food Science and Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. It is a key university for the Excellent Agricultural and Forestry Talent Education and Training Program and the Excellent Teacher Training Program, renowned for its agricultural technology and vocational teacher training.
